June 26, Play time on the beach

Another long walk on the beach in the morning before the wind comes in to blow. Brownie wanted to go for an outing, not having been able to go, mostly because sometimes I forget to bring her along.

We met the neighbor and his two dogs, Winston and Brit. Winston is the smaller one, more well behaved but still playful. Brit is my new canine BFF. When she sees me in the distance she can't wait until she is next to me. Her tail whips around in circles and she runs circles around me. We met up on the beach and here they can run off leash. The neighbor unclipped her and her joy is so wonderful and she's six years old, acting like a puppy. She goes crazy with wanting to play and run.

I was taking pictures of Brownie on a log but I had to quickly pick her up as Brit came bounding towards me and I thought if she got hold of Brownie that might be the end of her. I found a good stick for tossing and the two of them ran off. Brit got it before Winston could and she came running back full bore right at me, not her owner. She dropped the stick and I threw again. She ran to get it and brought it back, this time head between my knees with stick in place and just about knocked me over. I also was picking up a few small pieces of driftwood for a little project I have in mind and was carrying them along. I threw Brit's stick for her, but she just stood and looked at me and the sticks I was holding. Winston brought back the big stick and I tossed it again but Brit wanted those two sticks I was still holding onto. I was laughing so hard, she was so happy, but a little out of control.

After a few more tosses, the neighbor thought she was being a little too wild and concerned she might really knock me over so he clipped her back on her lead. She really didn't want anything to do with that, but he was trying to get their morning walk in and even though I was willing to walk with them, seems I added too much excitement to the occasion so they went the other direction, but not before Brit tried to go with me.

Brownie had her photo op, I got my sticks, to go with my rock collection. The dogs had a romp on the beach and it was a beautiful start to the day. I think this is what living a life of ease can be like.

Life is good.
